Gautam Gambhir, Indian team head coach, hosted the Indian T20 World Cup 2026 squad at his residence in Delhi. Indian team arrived in the national capital ahead of their second Group A game against Namibia, scheduled for February 12 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
India defeated USA in their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 opening game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 7. The match proved to be a close encounter as India was reduced to 77/6 in 13 overs by USA, who opted to bowl first after captain Monank Patel won the toss.
However, India captain Suryakumar Yadav had other ideas as he made 84* in 49 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes, in what many called one of the finest T20I knocks ever in T20 World Cups. He led India to a fighting 161/9 in 20 overs.
Mohammed Siraj’s three wickets and two wickets each by Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel rattled USA in their chase and despite some brilliant knocks by Milind Kumar and Sanjay Krishnamurthi, USA managed only 132/8 and lost the game by 29 runs.
