Watch: Haris Rauf angrily shoves Finn Allen during a BBL match; later both players laugh at the prank

During the current Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) match between the Perth Scorchers and the Melbourne Stars in Perth, an unexpected on-field event between Haris Rauf and Finn Allen drew everyone's attention. 

It happened immediately following the conclusion of the third over of the Perth Scorchers' chase at Perth Stadium. Finn Allen was walking by the pitch when Haris Rauf, a fast bowler from Pakistan, abruptly shoved the New Zealand hitter hard in the shoulder.

It appeared serious for a moment, and players and spectators inside the stadium immediately started talking about it. But the anxiety soon subsided. It was evident that the push was a friendly joke rather than an act of aggression when Rauf and Allen turned around, looked at one another, and started laughing. 

During the ongoing BBL 2025–26 match in Perth, Rauf was also spotted having a lighthearted moment with the on-field umpire, demonstrating that it was all part of the fun. Allen and Rauf quickly clasped hands to conclude the situation and prevent any misunderstandings or disputes.

Later, Rauf interacted with Allen once more, recalling the past incident and reaffirming their friendship with a pleasant helmet tap and a side embrace.

The Melbourne Stars lost Joe Clarke and Thomas Rogers in the first over due to an early batting collapse. Marcus Stoinis, the captain, led the Melbourne Stars to a total of 130 by scoring 55 runs off 39 deliveries. 

Finn Allen's game-winning 69 and Aaron Hardie's 41 off 37 balls led the Perth Scorchers in response, and captain Ashton Turner saw the chase through to the finish.

Haris Rauf had a great performance with the ball despite the lighthearted antics on the field, taking three wickets in his four overs while giving up just 23 runs. 

Rauf has taken 18 wickets in 10 games so far in the BBL, demonstrating his overall remarkable record. His 3 for 23 performance against the Perth Scorchers, with an economy rate of 7.97 and a strike rate of 12.00, continues to be his best numbers this season.
