In an interesting turn of events, Prithvi Shaw was involved in a heated altercation with his former Mumbai teammate Musheer Khan during a friendly game at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje, Pune, on Tuesday, October 7.

For the unversed, Shaw is currently representing the Maharashtra domestic team after leaving the Mumbai side. Shifting our focus to the details of the incident, Shaw was seen angrily rushing towards Musheer Khan after his dismissal against his former team Mumbai.

According to the reports on Cricbuzz, Shaw tried to raise his bat and held the collar of the Mumbai all-rounder Musheer Khan after he was subjected to intense sledging on the opening day of the three-day friendly game ahead of the Ranji Trophy season.

Meanwhile, Shaw amassed a 140-ball century in the friendly game, and he was also part of a huge 305-run opening stand with Arshin Kulkarni, who scored 186 runs off 140 balls. In the 74th over of the innings, Shaw was caught by Irfan Umair off Musheer Khan’s bowling. He got out on 181 runs off 220 balls with 21 fours and three sixes and was sent off by Musheer Khan with “Thank you.”

Interestingly, that celebration didn’t go down well with Shaw as he was seen involved in a war of words with the Mumbai spinner before the umpire had to intervene and calm things down. In the viral video doing rounds on the internet, Mumbai player Siddesh Lad was also seen calming things down.

There has been no official statement from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) or the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) regarding this controversial incident yet.
