With her recent public statements claiming that "other players" in the Indian cricket team indulge in "wrong activities" during abroad trips, Rivaba Jadeja, a BJP MLA and the wife of India's top all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, has sparked a significant controversy.  

The remarks, which were delivered at a public gathering in Gujarat, swiftly became a national talking point, prompting inquiries about the player's behavior and the motivations behind her remarks. 

Rivaba praised her husband's discipline and way of life while traveling on overseas assignments, highlighting his professionalism. 

One of India's best cricket players, Jadeja has played for the country in a variety of formats. Following the team's historic victory at the World Cup last year, he departed from Twenty20 Internationals on a high note. Jadeja is still playing Tests and ODIs and is regarded as one of the best all-rounders in the world.

Since making his debut for his country in 2009, the 37-year-old has participated in 89 Test matches, 207 ODIs, and 74 T20Is. In addition to bagging 634 wickets with his left-arm spin bowling, he has amassed close to 6500 runs throughout formats.

She praised Jadeja for "never indulging in any form of vice or intoxication," calling him a role model for young athletes, and mentioned that he frequently has to go to nations like England, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates for cricket-related obligations.

But it was her later remarks that caused a great deal of controversy. Rivaba claimed, without naming anyone, that "other players in the Indian team get involved in wrong activities when they travel abroad," drawing a sharp contrast between Jadeja's behavior and those of his teammates.

Cricket fans are shocked by her claim's ambiguity and lack of proof, and many are calling for more accountability for such a grave accusation.

Rivaba's refusal to name any players or provide evidence has further fueled rumors. Reactions on social media have been overwhelming. Some users have called her statement reckless and harmful, while others have questioned why she would openly criticize her husband's anonymous teammates. 

Both the Indian squad and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have remained silent as the controversy has grown. Rivaba's allegations have not been addressed in an official statement, and internal talks have not been confirmed.
