West Indies and Australian skippers Roston Chase and Pat Cummins have revealed their respective playing XIs ahead of the start of the first Test on Wednesday, June 25 at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
The top-order batter Brandon King, who is well known for his domination in the white-ball formats, has been handed a Test debut. Aslo, Shai Hope, who also received a recall to the Test XI for the first time since 2021, will keep the wickets and bat at No.6.
On the other hand, John Campbell will bat as an opener after receiving the recall. Moreover, Shamar Joseph, Alzarri Joseph, and Jayden Seales are part of the pace attack in the Windies Playing XI.
Moving further, the Pat Cummins-led Australian team has also confirmed that Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja will open the innings, while Josh Inglis will replace the injured Steve Smith in the XI.
While Konstas will replace the under-performing Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green will continue to bat at No.3 despite offering poor performances in the WTC Final. Head and Webster will continue with the same batting ord
Also, Australia is all set to go ahead with the same bowling attack that was used in the WTC Final against South Africa.
