Team India went to Australia with high hopes and aspirations although not too many beliefs suffering a historical whitewash at home at the hands of the New Zealand team. After a long tour of Australia, which did not go the way Team India would have wished as they suffered a 3-1 loss, it is now time for the next series.
After the red ball season, it is time for some white-ball games for the Indian side. England has already announced their teams for both the series while India is yet to announce either.
After a brief rest period, India is all set to play a T20I and ODI series against the English team at home. India will play 5 T20 Internationals and 3 One Day Internationals in this England tour of India with the T20I series being followed by One Day series.
What is the schedule?
The tour kicks off with the first T20I being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22. The second and third matches of the T20I series will be played at the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on the 25th and 28th of January respectively.
The last two matches of the T20I series are then scheduled on 31st January and 2nd February in Pune’s MCA Stadium and Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium respectively.
The focus will then shift to the One Day Internationals which would be the key as this would be the last series both the teams would be playing right before the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The series will kick off at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on February 06. Both the teams will then move to Cuttack for the second game on February 9 at the Barabati Stadium. Last but certainly not the least, the third ODI will be played at the Majestic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 12.
It is expected to be a fierce battle between both white ball giants and a good preparation for the Champions Trophy ahead.
