What is Vipraj Nigam's IPL 2025 salary?

Vipraj Nigam, the 20-year-old leg-spin all-rounder, made an immediate impact on his Delhi Capitals (DC) debut in IPL 2025. He played his first game on Monday against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on March 24.

He first dismissed the dangerous LSG opener, Aiden Markram, for 15 runs, conceding 35 runs in his two overs. He could’ve also dismissed Nicholas Pooran, but the catch was dropped by Sameer Rizvi.

Then, when Delhi Capitals found themselves in trouble with the bat at 113/6, Nigam joined a then-struggling Ashutosh Sharma and turned the tide in favor of DC. Nigam slammed 39 runs in just 15 balls, with 5 fours and 2 maximums in his knock.

Nigam also added 55 runs with Ashutosh in just 22 balls, letting his partner settle down, who then launched a stunning assault on LSG bowlers to take them to a one-wicket win.

What is Vipraj Nigam’s salary in IPL 2025?

Vipraj Nigam hails from Uttar Pradesh and has taken eight wickets at an average of 21.37 and an economy of 7.12; he is also a handy batter, striking at 156.09 in T20s. In 2023, Nigam made his debut in the UPT20 league, scoring 28 runs in a single over. He also hit a scorching 48 off 29 balls while batting at No. 8 that year.

In the 2024–25 SMAT, he took eight wickets at an economy rate of less than seven, and he and partner Rinku Singh even scored a 27 off eight balls against Andhra. He hammered two sixes and three fours at a strike rate of 337.50 when he came out to bat in the preliminary quarterfinal when his side was 109-6 in the run chase of 157.

Nigam also finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the UPT20 league last year after taking 20 wickets in 11 games. His 5-19 was the greatest score in the tournament, and he also picked a five-for.

Thanks to this performance, when the IPL 2025 rolled in, Delhi Capitals wasted no time in buying him at the mega auction for INR 50 lakhs.

Apart from this, for every match Nigam plays for the DC in IPL 2025, he will earn INR 7.50 lakhs as well, and if he plays all 14 games in the league stage, Nigam could earn up to INR 1.05 crores extra money.

The auction was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Vipraj Nigam has shown that DC was right to invest in his talent with a match-winning performance.
