In the 2025 Asia Cup, bitter rivals India and Pakistan may play each other up to three times. Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), stated on Saturday that the men's competition will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to September 28.
On September 10, India will kick off their campaign against the United Arab Emirates, with all of their games anticipated to take place in Dubai. Group B consists of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka.
Each side may travel with a roster of 17 players for the 19-match T20 competition, which will be held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Announcing the dates on social media, ACC chairman and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi said: “I am delighted to confirm the dates of the ACC Men's Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th. We look to a spectacular display of cricket. Detailed schedule will be out soon.”

Fans would witness one of cricket's most intense rivalries three times in less than three weeks if both clubs advanced to the final. Interestingly, the bitter rivals have yet to face each other in the continental championship final.
In a meeting attended by all 25 member countries on July 24, the ACC decided to hold the event in the United Arab Emirates. Due to the current cross-border tensions, India and Pakistan have mutually agreed to only play each other on neutral grounds until at least 2027, which is why the event is being held in the United Arab Emirates even though the BCCI is the official host for this edition.
PTI claims that to ensure at least two meetings, India and Pakistan are consistently placed in the same group under the terms of the ACC's current agreement with the tournament broadcasters. If both teams advance, the structure also opens the door for an exciting final.
