The current Ashes are already being dictated by fast bowling. The series has yielded a result in two days after just one test. Australia's normal Test captain, Pat Cummins, watched the opening game from the sidelines. The management is hopeful he will come back to assume the role again as the second match at the Gabba approaches.

According to Australian captain Pat Cummins, he is expected to participate in the second Ashes Test against England, which will begin on December 4 in Brisbane. Due to a back issue, the 32-year-old was unable to play in the series opener in Perth, which concluded on Saturday. He stated that he underwent many bowling sessions in Perth and expressed optimism that he would recover in time for the game.

In an interview with Fox Cricket, Cummins described the specifics of that approach and the way his body is reacting as he attempts to make a quick return. Cummins provided an evaluation of his back condition and his training accomplishments thus far.

Pat Cummins told broadcaster Kayo Sports, “I’m feeling good. I had some good sessions in Perth this week. I bowled about 10 overs, then took some rest and then started playing again. My chances of playing in the second Test are half. I’m hoping I’ll feel better than I have in the last few weeks.”

“I’ll have a couple more bowls, and then there could be about two weeks before the next one, the way this one is going. I’m pretty hopeful, and it’s probably better than it was a few weeks ago,” he added.

Cummins may return for Brisbane, but Usman Khawaja, a top-order batsman, is doubtful for the second test due to a back injury that prevented him from opening either innings in Perth. The 38-year-old Khawaja failed to open in either innings in Perth because of back spasms, paving the way for Head to seize the opportunity with all guns blazing.

"Unfortunately Uzzy is not moving too well. His back flared up again in the slips going for a jump above his head so he's unable to open," Cummins added.
