For violating the Women's Premier League (WPL 2026) Code of Conduct during the Delhi Capitals' game against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara, Lizelle Lee was fined ten per cent of her match fee and given one demerit point. The batsman-wicketkeeper acknowledged her Level 1 offence and agreed to pay the fine. A WPL release stated, "Lee admitted to a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment during the match. For Level 1 breaches, the match referee's decision is final and binding."
In the eleventh over of the Capitals' innings, Lee was declared stumped by Amanjot Kaur's bowling. Lee attempted a flick shot during the delivery, which was bowled down the leg side, but she seemed to lose her footing. Rahila Firdous, the wicketkeeper, rushed swiftly to catch the ball and remove the bails as she overextended.

The on-field umpires then deliberated for a considerable amount of time before consulting the third umpire to ratify their ruling. Several replay views, including stump camera footage, were analysed. The decision was upheld when the third umpire carefully examined the situation and determined that Lee's bat was just slightly off the ground at the same moment the bails were lifted.
Lee got into a furious argument with on-field umpire Vrinda Rathi after the big screen verified her dismissal after almost five minutes of review, which led to a Code of Conduct infraction. Following the game, Lee acknowledged her desire to work as an umpire after retirement. In a video shared on Women's Premier League social media, she remarked, "Look, I've started doing umpiring, I think a few years ago. I'm just trying to get into it because I'm really enjoying it. So it's something that I probably want to do after cricket. But I'm still going to play cricket for as long as I can."
