Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have assembled a strong 16-member squad for the upcoming WPL 2026. They will play their season opener on January 9 against the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians (MI). Their first four games will be played in Navi Mumbai, and their last four group-stage matches will take place in Vadodara. On January 29, they will play their last group-stage (vs UP Warriorz).
RCB Women won the WPL title in the second season, but in the last season, their title defence did not go as planned. They even failed to qualify for the playoffs, finishing fourth with six points in eight games (three wins and five losses). This time, under Smriti Mandhana’s leadership, they will look to win their second title.
They have added some exciting names like Georgia Voll, Lauren Bell, Grace Harris, and Nadine de Klerk. Australia’s Voll is likely to be the opening partner for skipper Mandhana. Linsey Smith is another player who can be a game-changing addition this season. In the recent Women’s ODI World Cup, Smith showed how well she can deceive batters with her variations in pace along with her accuracy.
Richa Ghosh, the wicketkeeper-batter, has been retained. Along with her power-hitting skills, more power-hitters have been added in the form of South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk and Australia’s Grace Harris. Both can also bowl some effective overs in the middle phase, giving Mandhana more options to work with.
