WPL 2026: UP Warriorz (UPW) Women full schedule and squad

UP Warriorz (UPW) are all set for a fresh start in WPL 2026. Ahead of the recently concluded mega auction, they retained only one player — Shweta Sehrawat. So, all eyes were on their new head coach, Abhishek Nayar’s approach at the auction table. By the end of the auction, UPW assembled a strong and versatile 18-member squad. They even brought back India’s star all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

They will begin their campaign on January 10 against Gujarat Giants (GG) in Navi Mumbai. Overall, they will play their first five games in Navi Mumbai, and then the last three games will take place in Vadodara. On February 1, UPW will play their last group-stage match against Delhi Capitals (DC).

Focus will be on players like Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield, India’s G Trisha, and Kiran Nagvire. They also signed former DC skipper and Aussie legend, Meg Lanning. In the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Lanning has been scoring runs (409 runs in eight innings so far, averaging 68.16) and with all her experience, she is expected to lead the team. 

When UPW are looking for a fresh start, Meg Lanning seems the best option to lead and build a new team culture. In the first WPL season, UPW qualified for the playoffs, but in the next two seasons, they failed to do so. They finished in the fourth spot in the second edition and fifth in the third season.
