Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma officially granted divorce

Over the last few months, there has been a lot of talk that Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree may divorce. However, a recent story from the Times of India, as well as a recently discovered clipping, appears to corroborate that the couple has separated.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's romance began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Chahal, looking for something to do during his cricket break, discovered Dhanashree's dance videos on social media and approached her about taking classes. 

Their student-teacher relationship rapidly developed into a stronger bond. Chahal proposed to Dhanashree, and the couple announced their engagement on August 8, 2020, followed by a private wedding in December.

Their first year of marriage was filled with delight, as they shared memories on social media, and Dhanashree cheered Chahal on at IPL matches. The duo became a fan favorite after frequently posting dance videos together. However, recent events obviously depict a different picture.

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have formally separated. The news of their divorce circulated on social media for months. Both posted cryptic messages on the internet, implying that they had parted ways. 

However, none of them spoke out strongly on the subject, highlighting potential reasons for the choice. However, it has been reported that the couple's final hearing and all other formalities took place on Thursday in the Bandra Family Court, where all parties were physically present.

According to a report in ABP news, the judge advised the pair to seek counseling for around 45 minutes. Following the counseling session, the judge was informed that both parties intended to split ways with mutual consent.

It was also revealed that Chahal and Dhanashree have been living separately for the previous 18 months. When asked about the various reasons for pursuing divorce, the couple stated that they had 'compatibility concerns.'. On Thursday, at 4:30 p.m., the judge officially granted their divorce.

On Thursday, February 20, Chahal posted a reflective message on his Instagram Stories, hinting at resilience and divine protection: "God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I've been rescued that I don't even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen."

Meanwhile, Dhanashree also shared an introspective message about faith and overcoming challenges.

It reads, "From stressed to blessed. Isn't it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you're stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good."
