“No relationship, happy single”- Yuzvendra Chahal rubbishes rumors of dating RJ Mahvash

Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian cricket player, was embroiled in controversy in March 2025 as a result of his difficult divorce with Dhanashree Verma. After getting married in 2020, his admirers mistreated and slut-shamed her.  

On the other hand, he also faced the wrath of netizens after being spotted with his rumored girlfriend, RJ Mahvash, everywhere, before his divorce was even finalised. He has now discussed the matter in an interview with The Bombay Journey on Mashable India. 

Chahal denied the relationship rumors after being made aware of the widely shared videos of him and Mahvash. He stuck to his position, declaring that he is contentedly single and not in a relationship.

“Yaar, dost waghaire ghumte hai toh problem nahi hai na ki video aa jata hai (It’s not a problem as videos of friends roaming around surface on the internet). No relationship. Happy single,” Chahal said.

He also discussed the trolling he has experienced on social media since the beginning of his career. He disclosed that he is no longer very bothered by the abuse and trolling.

“Maine apne life mein trolling se leke, galliyon se leke, maa-behen ki gaali, sab dekhi hai on social media. Toh main uss cheez se nikal chuka hoon. Mujhe itna farak nahi padta, log gali deke jaayengey, koi problem nahi. Meri built pe maine bohot trolling dekhi hai life mein, mere daaton pe dekhi hai. Jisko troll karna hai woh mujhe kya, kisiko bhi troll karega,” the 35-year-old cricketer said.

The 2024 T20 World Cup winner continued by saying that because trolling was so unfamiliar to him, it used to have an impact on him in the early stages of his career.

He said, “Starting mein affect karta tha kyunki yeh cheez nayi thi. Koi itna ganda bhi bol sakta hai, without meeting me or my family. Ab toh apna open Instagram hai, jisko aana hai aao, gaali deke jao. Hate aayegi ab, khuch rahe woh bhi, hate karne waale.”

Yuzvendra Chahal further disclosed that throughout the difficult period of his divorce from Dhanashree Verma, he experienced a great deal of worry and panic attacks. He clarified that during the attacks, his face would shrink and go numb, and his hands would shiver.  

Occasionally, things would get so severe that he would pass out. When asked how he overcame it, he said that going to therapy sessions was really helpful. He is in good health now.
