Aditya Roy Kapur & Anil Kapoor's The Night Manager nominated for Emmy!

Fans witnessed the esteemed Emmy Awards 2024 ceremony a few days ago. The Bear and Shogun were the winning shows during the ceremony. The 2024 International Emmy Awards are about to begin. The Television Academy Awards recently revealed the nominees for the same category. The Night Manager has been nominated from India. Starring in the Hindi crime series are Aditya Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Anil Kapoor.

The only Indian program nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2024 in the Drama Series category is the Night Manager series. Les Gouttes de Dieu [Drops of God], The Newsreader Season 2, and Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido—Season 2 [Yosi, the Regretful Spy] are the other nominees in this category. For the Indian show to be nominated in such a significant category is quite an accomplishment.

The Night Manager show gets its due credit:

The actor Anil Kapoor, who portrays Shelly Rungta, the villain Shailendra, has responded to the announcement of the nomination. The Welcome actor expressed his happiness at being nominated, as PTI reported. Anil recalled feeling conflicted when he received the opportunity to be a part of the show. He said, "It offered me the opportunity to play a character so complex, but also, on the other hand, the huge responsibility of trying to add newness and authenticity to a part that had been played so masterfully by Hugh Laurie." 

The most difficult aspect of creating the show, according to director Sandeep Modi, was retelling the story in a fresh way to appeal to the viewers. He carefully considered each character so that people in India might relate to them. He expressed his excitement and happiness over the nomination and thanked the collaborators for their support.

The main actor, Aditya Roy Kapur, also expressed how he felt about the Emmy nomination. The actor from Aashiqui 2 is overjoyed to have his debut series nominated for an Emmy. The actors claimed that they had known from the beginning that they were working on something unique with The Night Manager, and they had never envisioned accomplishing this achievement. The actor described it as a historic occasion and shared how everyone's diligence had paid off.

Sobhita Dhulipala expressed her happiness for Sandeep Modi, Priyanka Ghose, and the technical team, calling it excellent news. She praised her co-stars and described the nomination as incredibly inspiring and touching. The date of the 2025 International Emmys is November 25, 2025. Vir Das, an Indian comedian and actor, will serve as its host; it takes place in New York. Das' comedic series Landing took home an Emmy last year.
