Since it was built, the six-story house that is Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's dream home has been in the news. The enormous home has been under construction for three years and is estimated to be worth over Rs 250 crore. Both the couple and Neetu Kapoor have been spotted frequently at the property. It was recently reported that Ranbir and Alia, together with their daughter Raha, had moved into their new home after a video of the building went viral on social media. Now, Alia Bhatt has released a formal statement denouncing the privacy violation.
In her message, Alia said, “I understand that in a city like Mumbai, space is limited – sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But that does not give anyone the right to film private residences and push those videos online. A video of our home – still under construction – has been recorded and circulated by multiple publications, without our knowledge or consent. This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue."
Alia Bhatt's Official Statement:
She further added, "Filming or photographing someone’s personal space without permission is not ‘content’ – it’s a violation. It should never be normalised. Think about it: would you tolerate videos of the inside of your home being shared publicly, without you knowing? None of us would. So here’s a humble but firm request – if you come across such content online, please don’t forward it or share it further. And to our friends in the media who have carried these images and videos: I urge you to take them down immediately.”
The home, called 'Krishna Raj', has emotional meaning for the family, according to the uninitiated. In 1980, the late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu acquired it from Ranbir's grandparents, Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj. Rishi and Neetu proceeded with their plan to rebuild the property in 2016. Thus, it holds great significance for Ranbir Kapoor. Together with their mother, Neetu Kapoor and daughter Raha, the couple owns several levels of the building in which they will reside. At the moment, the house is valued at ₹250 crore.
