Ashneer Grover, a former co-founder of BharatPe, defended his position after expressing regret to Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 18. Grover stated that the Weekend Ka Vaar episode must have received "great viewership" while sharing a picture of himself with Khan. For the uninitiated, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star asked Grover about his podcast remark about him. It had to do with an old brand ambassador contract that Khan and Grover's previous employer had made.
Salman Khan, the host, interrogated the businessman and reminded him of all the disparaging remarks he had previously made about the actor. Since then, social media has been buzzing with trolls against the businessman. Ashneer has now justified his decision to appear on Bigg Boss 18 on his X account.
Ashneer Grover defends himself:
I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss weekend ka vaar ! I had good fun. And I am sure the particular episode got great TRP / viewership. BTW all of statements below are TRUE:

He posted a photo of himself with the celebrity and stated, "I hope you enjoyed the Bigg Boss Weekend Ka Vaar! I had good fun. And I am sure the particular episode got great TRP/viewership. BTW all of these statements are TRUE. Salman is a great host & actor. Salman knows what works on Bigg Boss. I've always praised Salman for his sense of self and business - not a single thing demeaning said for him ever."
He further added, "My deal numbers are always correct (bank / auditor verified). Met Salman in an exclusive meeting on the brand collab for 3 hours in May 2019 in JW Marriott Juhu - along with the director of ad (it’s ok if he doesn’t remember me - I was not a public figure then - he meets tons of people) The invite for coming as guest on Bigg Boss was not ‘unnamed’ - just like the cheque for the same (sic)."
For those who are unaware, the Sikandar actor was enlisted as a brand ambassador by Ashneer in 2019 while he was leading BharatPe. Grover claimed to have persuaded Khan to lower his remuneration from Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 4.5 crore during an interview with the Vagerah Vagerah podcast last year. He also claimed that Salman's crew refused to allow him to take a picture with the actor.
