Diljit Dosanjh Halts Mid-Concert in Germany to Honor Late Ratan Tata

Ratan Tata, the former chairman of the Tata Group, passed away on Wednesday night. On social media, a number of Bollywood and film industry celebrities paid respect to him.

Diljit Dosanjh is in Europe in the middle of his Dil-Luminati World Tour. The singer, who recently gave a performance in the UK, is currently in Germany, where he performed on Tuesday night, shortly after Indian industrialist Ratan Tata passed away. Diljit interrupted his show to honour the titan of the industry in a touching gesture. He was seen discussing Tata on stage in a video that has now gone viral.

Social media users have shared a video of Diljit on stage discussing Ratan Tata's life and passing while stopping his song. The vocalist addresses the audience in Punjabi and Hindi in the video, saying, "You all know Ratan Tata. He is now deceased, and I honour him. He put in a lot of work his entire life, therefore I felt it was only fitting to take his name today. Regardless of how much I've read or heard about him, I can't recall him criticizing anyone. He was always a diligent worker, a decent worker, and a helpful person."

He goes on to discuss life lessons learned from the late Ratan Tata, "Yahi zindagi hai (This is life). If there's one thing his life can teach us, it's that we should work hard, think clearly, and be kind to others. He lived a life devoid of imperfections," as the saying goes."

For the past few weeks, Diljit has been touring both in the US and Europe. He will soon embark on his Dil-Luminati Tour, which will begin on October 26–27 with two consecutive performances in Delhi. After that, the singer has performances scheduled for six Indian cities through December. He recently promoted Alia Bhatt's upcoming movie Jigra with his song.

At 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Ratan Tata, the chairman of the Tata Group for over 20 years, passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai. Tata, a Padma Vibhushan recipient, has been in the hospital's intensive care unit since Monday.
