Every time he takes the stage, Ed Sheeran surprises his fans. The Grammy-winning musician took Indian vocalist Shilpa Rao to the stage for his Bengaluru show, and the two sang Chuttamalle, a hit song from Devara. Before taking the stage, Ed shared on Instagram how he learned and practised the Telugu vocals.

The British singer has performed in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune while on tour. Videos of the singer's Sunday performance in Bengaluru swiftly became viral on social media. But Ed's performance of the song Chuttamale from Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor's 2024 movie Devara was one that made everyone take notice.

Ed Sheeran's Big Surprise:

Ed Sheeran requested vocalist Shilpa Rao to perform with him at the Bengaluru show, and the two of them sang Chuttamale. When Ed performed the Telugu song brilliantly, the audience erupted. Ed later posted the memorable event and his admiration for Shilpa Rao's talent on his Instagram page. Ed took it to his Gram and wrote, "A real privilege to share the stage tonight, and learn a new language! I've been obsessed with @shilparao's voice for the last while!"

In a video posted on her Instagram Stories, Shilpa Rao showed Ed learning the song's Telugu lyrics and practising the guitar chords. They both grinned, and Shilpa was surprised by Ed's rapid learning of the song and subsequent participation. Ed is on his mathematics tour in India right now. He even gave playing the sitar a try when performing his song Shape of You during his gigs. Megha Rawoot, a sitar player, led him through the procedure. Ed recently shared the stage with music legend AR Rahman in Chennai. On February 15, Ed will play in Delhi-NCR to wrap out his tour.

On Sunday, Ed Sheeran was stopped by a police officer while performing in the streets of Bengaluru outside a church. According to the police officer, he was not authorized to perform. However, the Shape of You singer clarified on Instagram. Ed wrote, "We had permission to busk btw, hence us playing in that exact spot, was planned out before, it wasn't just randomly turning up. All good though. See ya at the show tonight x".
