A dilemma that is as big as Tom Cruise's Agent Ethan Hunt's aura looms by the time Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning plods its way to the end of its trick kit. Will fans of the well-liked action-adventure franchise be left wanting more or are they finally satisfied with the climax of the final movie?

The predictability makes it difficult for us to relate to some of the team's more recent additions. For example, even though Degas is supposed to be a key player on Ethan Hunt's side right now, his character feels underdeveloped. And the only thing that keeps Paris from joining the same league is Pom Klementieff's witty comedic timing. Although the plot of the MI movies has always been Hunt-centric and the films have never been ensembles, the script does deprive some of the supporting actors of an opportunity to shine this time.

Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning movie public review:

Plot-wise, The Final Reckoning is among the most straightforward Mission Impossible movies. Unfortunately, though, that also makes it somewhat predictable. After thirty years of watching the franchise and innumerable other Hollywood action thrillers, it is easy to see how filmmaker McQuarrie has adapted each stereotype. However, the plot of the Mission Impossible movies was never the main focus. They are about Hunt accomplishing incredible feats with fancy devices. This movie does well on that metric.

Perhaps the most poignant MI movie ever is The Final Reckoning. Hunt takes us on a journey as he reflects on his thirty-five years with the IMF and anticipates an uncertain future. He is burdened by his past, and the consequences of occasionally saving the world have begun to manifest. The stakes are raised even further by the layer it gives the movie, which anchors it in reality. It was satisfying after a while to observe that the individuals being rescued in an action movie are regarded as actual persons and not just statistics.

An iconic action movie that never lets up is Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. It is unrelenting, emotionally intense, breathtakingly beautiful, and entertaining enough to conceal its shortcomings in narrative and reasoning. It is also practically a Tom Cruise love song and a nod to the big Hollywood action films of the 1990s. See it on the largest screen available!
