Mom Joyce breaks silence on Malaika Arora's father suicide

Anil Arora, Malaika Arora's father, commits suicide, and following the tragedy, sources indicate that police may have taped her mother Joyce's statement. According to reports, Anil committed suicide by plunging from his Bandra home's terrace at around nine in the morning today. In her testimony to the police, Malaika's mother claimed, if stories were to be accepted, that Anil would spend every morning reading the newspapers while sitting on the balcony. She also told the police that, despite being divorced, they had been living together once more for the previous few years.

In contrast, Joyce claimed to the police during her statement on Wednesday morning that she went to the balcony to search for her ex-husband after spotting his slippers in the living room. She claimed that she leaned over and spotted him below even though she did not see him on the balcony. The building watchman, according to her, was even yelling for assistance. Anil Arora, according to Malaika's mother Joyce, was experiencing some knee pain but was otherwise well. Her mother also claimed that he had taken VRS from the Merchant Navy.

Malaika Arora's statement on parent's divorce:

The actress had previously disclosed that her parents divorced when she was eleven years old. Following their divorce, Malaika's mother raised both her and her younger sister, Amrita Arora, who was six at the time. In an interview with a magazine, Malaika disclosed details of her parents' divorce. To begin a new chapter, the family relocated from Thane to Chembur. Malaika said, looking back on her early years, "I had a great upbringing, but it wasn't easy. Looking back, turbulent would be the best word to characterize it. However, difficult circumstances also impart valuable lessons."
