Following a successful theatrical run, Bollywood star Aamir Khan has chosen to make his most recent film, Sitaare Zameen Par, available on YouTube movies-on-demand. According to the actor, he wants to make sure it is affordable and available anywhere in the world. This audacious choice establishes a new standard for international cinema distribution. Sitaare Zameen Par won't be released on any other digital platform; it will only be accessible on YouTube.
Aamir declared during a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday that Sitaare Zameen Par would not be made available on any over-the-top (OTT) platforms. He declared that it will cost ₹100 in India and be accessible on YouTube starting on August 1. With localised prices for each country, the movie will also be accessible to see in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Spain. There will be dubs available in a few important languages in addition to subtitles.
