With his eagerly awaited film Sikandar, Salman Khan is ready to delight his fans this year. Expectations are high as fans await the superstar's Eid release after a protracted wait. The superstar secured a major project with well-known filmmaker Atlee in addition to AR Murugadoss' movie. The project appears unlikely to proceed anytime soon, though.
An internet site claims that the untitled movie has been postponed, but no explanation has been provided. "Baby John," which starred Varun Dhawan and included a cameo by Salman Khan, was a poor follow-up to Atlee's recent huge blockbuster with Shah Rukh Khan in "Jawan."
Salman Khan-Atlee Project On Hold:
It was anticipated that Salman would play a major role in the reincarnation drama, which also starred Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan. Salman Khan was reportedly set to work with director Atlee Kumar on a high-octane action drama. In 2023, Atlee starred in the popular Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan; this would have been his second Hindi film. With an amazing track record, Atlee is currently one of India's most successful directors. With five films in his ten-year directing portfolio—Raja Rani (2013), Theri (2016), Mersal (2017), Bigil (2019), and Jawan (2023)—with no box office setbacks, Atlee has achieved success.
Fans were ecstatic to learn that the actor and filmmaker would be working together on a potential action movie. The project appears to have been abandoned, though. According to the rumours, it is unclear exactly what caused the Salman-Atlee film to be shelved. However, the decision follows the failure of Kumar's 2024 action flick Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan. Atlee will be concentrating on his upcoming film opposite Allu Arjun, according to Masala. Does this imply that the Jawan director's second Hindi feature will not be released until later? That appears to be the case for the time being.
Regarding Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna will play the protagonist in his next movie, Sikandar. The actor is ready to play the Devil again in Kick 2, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. The movie is a follow-up to their 2014 action thriller Kick, in which Jacqueline Fernandez played the lead.
