Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja starred in the Jhanak TV series, which ranked in the top five on the TRP ratings. However, the show's ratings have significantly dropped in recent weeks. There are now rumours that the show is going through a leap. Although the producers have not yet confirmed, there are rumours that Jhanak may shortly take a few-year hiatus. Whether Hiba and Krushal will remain in the show or not is still up in the air. Here is a post-leap update on the prospective female lead, though.
For many years, Shiney Doshi has been a well-known figure on television. She was recently seen on Star Plus' Pandya Store. During her time on Pandya Store, the actress who played Dhara gained a lot of notoriety and acclaim, and the show continued to rank consistently on the TRP lists.

According to our reliable sources who are close to Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, Shiny has been asked to take the helm as the program prepares for a new phase. According to the source, "Shiny has been asked to serve as the new titular face for 'Jhanak,' which has been on the verge of taking a jump."

Jhanak was said to have taken a leap before the start of the IPL 2025. But Jhanak and Aniruddha's plotline was pushed forward, and the current plot dragged on. Hiba Nawab said back in February 2025 that her time with the show would end after the leap. She had informed Etimes that the show would be on a 20-year hiatus. She said she was sorry to be leaving the show, but it's up to the creators. She also mentioned that she wouldn't look like a 45-year-old woman, hence she would be quitting the show.
"I had to exit the show because I would not look convincing as a 45-year-old woman. I learnt a lot of skills while essaying the role of Jhanak. I am not a trained dancer, but I had to play a very good dancer in the show, and so it was tough looking perfect and giving several performances in the show."
