Rohit Shetty Sets the Record Straight on Horror Movie Rumors with Nushratt Bharuccha

For more than a year, Rohit Shetty has been considering a career in horror, according to a story by Mid-Day. According to a source close to the development, "he's always been drawn to stories that evoke strong emotional reactions, and horror can be just as visceral as action," the report said. His initial pick was Nussratt. Her portrayal in Chhorii demonstrated her ability to handle a horror story with both strength and tenderness.

E Niwas, who helmed Shool and Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, will direct the movie. According to reports, Niwas is likely to use his raw sensibilities to convey Shetty's desire to keep the horror grounded and unnerving. Pre-production is now underway on the as-yet-untitled project. With the aforementioned partnership, Shetty appeared to be making her maiden foray into the horror genre, according to the story that started making the rounds on various media platforms. His team, however, has since denied the allegations and labelled them untrue.

His team officially stated, “A story is doing the rounds claiming that Rohit Shetty is working on a horror film with Nushrratt Bharuccha and E Niwas. This news is completely false and baseless. We request the media to kindly reach out to us for verification before rehashing or publishing any stories related to Rohit Shetty or his production house to avoid the circulation of inaccurate news."

Speaking of Rohit Shetty, his film Singham Again, which starred Ajay Devgn, was a huge success. Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh were also featured in the movie. The multi-star action drama was adored by viewers.

Nushrratt Bharuccha is renowned for her powerful roles in movies such as Dream Girl, Chhorii, and Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The last time we saw her was in Chhorii 2. It is a follow-up to the Chhorii movie from 2021. Stars like Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma play important roles in the sequel, which is produced by T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane Production. Regarding Chhori, it was a formal remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi from 2017. While offering spine-tingling terror, it explores issues of parenting and societal injustices.
