Justin Timberlake fined a WHOPPING FEE in drunk driving case

Following his arrest in a drunk driving case in June, Justin Timberlake initially entered a not-guilty plea to a misdemeanour charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. As a result, his driver's license was revoked last month.

When Justin Timberlake appeared in Sag Harbor Court, New York, on September 13, he entered a guilty plea to the reduced charge of "driving while ability impaired" in the drunk driving case. The singer-actor has been mandated to complete 25–40 hours of community service and pay a $500 fine. During a hearing last month on August 2, the pop star first entered a not-guilty plea to a misdemeanour charge of driving while intoxicated and had his driver's license suspended.

Timberlake said to the judge on Friday, "I did not live up to the standards that I try to hold for myself. I ought to have used better discretion. I recognize how serious this is," stated by Associated Press. Justin had to make a "public safety announcement" in addition to his punishment and community service, which he did by speaking with the media outside the court following the hearing.

"Never drive after consuming alcohol, even if you only had one drink. There are tons of options. Make an Uber or call a friend. Numerous travel apps exist. Use a cab. Although I made this error, I hope that whoever is currently watching and listening can take something out of it. I'm positive that I have," he remarked.

Shortly after midnight on June 18, Timberlake was pulled over in the Long Island village of Sag Harbor while operating a 2025 grey BMW. Timberlake's eyes "were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he was unsteady afoot and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests," according to court documents when he was pulled over by the police. The singer-actor declined to undergo a breathalyzer test, telling the police he had just had one martini before getting behind the wheel.

As a young man, Timberlake was a cast member of Disney Mouseketeer, where future fiancée Britney Spears was one of his coworkers. After being well-known as a member of the well-liked boy band NSYNC, he started a solo recording career in 2002. As an actor, Timberlake has received praise for roles in films such as Friends With Benefits and The Social Network. Ten Grammys and four Primetime Emmys have been won by him.
