Meet the leading actress who once opened doors for Deepika & Ranveer!

Bollywood is replete with tales of rags to riches, of seemingly insignificant people who have achieved great success and made a name for themselves. While they wait to become successful, many begin with odd occupations of their own and use that experience to learn more about Bollywood. An actress who is currently regarded as one of the most promising of the new generation began her career as an assistant director in several movies. She once worked for Deepika & Ranveer. 

Known by her stage name Sharvari Wagh, or just Sharvari, she debuted in Bollywood with Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2020 after starting her acting career with The Forgotten Army in 2020. Before that, though, the actress had been in the business for many years. At the age of eighteen, she worked as an assistant director for Luv Ranjan on Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and for Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Bajirao Mastani.

From working with Deepika & Ranveer to a lead actress:

Sharvari revealed in a recent interview that one of her responsibilities on the Bajirao Mastani set was to open a large door so Deepika Padukone could walk for her entrance shot. According to the actress, she had to dedicate a significant amount of time to setting up Deepika and Ranveer Singh for the scene.

Despite Bunty Aur Babli 2's lacklustre box office performance, her 2021 debut was well-received. However, 2024 has proven to be her breakthrough year. With the horror-comedy Munjya, she experienced her first taste of commercial success. She then made a cameo in the Netflix movie Maharaj. The largest career boost came from getting chosen for Alpha, the YRF espionage Universe's first espionage movie with a female lead.

In the movie, Sharvari and Alia Bhatt will appear together on screen. As a result, the actress is currently a part of two different movie universes. Alpha belongs to the YRF Spy Universe, whilst Munjya is a component of the Maddock Horror Universe. These two teams have made a total of Rs 4000 crore at the box office.
