Star Indian batsman Rohit Sharma was spotted practising in front of a large crowd at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, indicating that he has started preparing for the Indian Premier League 2026 season (IPL 2026). Rohit also watched the England national cricket team play in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
On Saturday, March 7, the former captain of the Mumbai Indians was spotted working out at the famous Shivaji Park. Many people flocked to the ground to see Rohit Sharma bat during the practice session. The seasoned opener performed several outstanding strokes during his nets session to thunderous applause from the crowd.
A range of shots, including flicks, pulls, cover drives, and strong front-foot defensive strokes, was executed with assurance by Rohit. There was a lively mood during the practice session as the supporters around the ground cheered and encouraged him every time he made a strong shot.

Rohit has attended every India match in the current T20 World Cup 2026 and is scheduled to attend the final on Sunday, March 8, at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Rohit will immediately appear in the IPL, which is set to start in the final week of March, after fulfilling his responsibilities as a brand ambassador.
When Rohit last played in the ODI series against New Zealand's national cricket team, he had a dismal performance, scoring just 61 runs in three innings. Before that, despite India's 1-2 series loss, he made two half-centuries in the ODI series against the South Africa national cricket team and was named Player of the Series against the Australia national cricket team.
