Sanctions like IPL ban a big part of BCCI

In the aftermath of India's 3-1 series loss to Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI has issued a 10-point diktat that consists of a number of guidelines that the players would need to adhere to. The wives and girlfriends of players can accompany them for no more than two weeks on a tour that lasts for 45 days. The players also have to travel together in the team bus to and fro for practice sessions as well as matches.

The players aren't allowed to shoot for their personal endorsements during the tour. They need to keep their personal shoots away when with the team and all players need to adhere to these guidelines.

If the players don't adhere to these guidelines, it could lead to a suspension in BCCI-related activities or a deduction in match fees or retainer fees as per the diktat. The idea of the BCCI to limit the presence of managers and families of players in the team is for the growth of unity in the team.

The players will also need to play in domestic tournaments to be in the fray for selection in the national team and central contracts

"This policy ensures that players remain connected to the domestic cricket ecosystem, fostering talent development, maintaining match fitness, and strengthening the overall domestic structure. It also inspires emerging players by providing them opportunities to compete alongside top cricketers, ensuring continuity in talent progression," the BCCI policy document read.

Players have to travel together to and fro for matches and practice sessions

There will be restrictions on players travelling with their families during the duration of practice sessions and matches as the team has to travel together to foster team bonding.

"All players are expected to travel with the team to and from matches and practice sessions. Separate travel arrangements with families are discouraged to maintain discipline and team cohesion. Exceptions, if any, must be pre-approved by the Head Coach and Chairman of the Selection Committee," the document said.
