In the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Trinbago Knight Riders broke the unbeaten record of the Barbados Royals with a thrilling two-wicket victory at Kensington Oval thanks to a six from Terrance Hinds off the penultimate delivery. Read on for the CPL 2024 match 15 review.

With six runs needed in the final over, Akeal Hosein dropped off the third delivery, putting the Knight Riders, who were chasing 157, in danger of losing. However, Hinds blasted a six down the ground off the next delivery when Jason Holder bowled a waist-high full toss. With a 3-1 record, the Knight Riders now were equal to the Royals.

After finding it difficult to deal with the Knight Riders' spinners, the Royals scored 156/7, powered by captain Rovman Powell's unbeaten 59 off 38 balls. The finalists from the previous season, the Knight Riders, decided to play and attempted to maintain their superiority over the Royals after defeating them twice in the previous campaign.

CPL 2024 match 15 review and highlights:

After tumbling off the second ball of the innings, opener Rahkeem Cornwall made his third consecutive duck, which gave the Royals a dismal start. Later, at just two balls, Hosein made another strike as he trapped Alick Athanaze for a duck. The Royals were stopped by a brilliant play from Waqar Salamkheil after Quinton de Kock and Rivaldo Clarke paired up. Holder was soon out of the game.

Before David Miller trapped Hosein with a huge six over extra cover in the 13th over, the Royals battled for boundaries in the middle overs. Salamkheil terminated Miller's cameo by finishing with an incredible 3/13.

Before dominating with a barrage of sixes, including one-off seamer Jayden Seales in the final over to achieve his half-century in style, Powell had little of the strike. After planning to chase in the damp circumstances, the Knight Riders also got off to a bad start as Sunil Narine was caught by spinner Maheesh Theekshana with the first ball.

After two brilliant drives by opener Jason Roy, Theekshana tricked him, leaving the match in a precarious position. Following a lengthy rain delay, Holder dropped Shaqkere Parris off Theekshana, and Nicholas Pooran took over to stabilize the Knight Riders.

However, Powell's brilliant double act in the deep halted his easy 23-ball 35 when he collected the ball and flicked it to Holder just before he crossed the boundary. Keacy Carty helped Parris along, and the Knight Riders looked to be headed toward their goal of 51 off 36 balls. Theekshana's return in the fifteenth over proved to be effective as he tricked Parris into taking a false shot, which caused the Knight Riders to crumble. The local supporters were taken aback by Hinds' late heroics, which set up a dramatic finish.
