Kieron Pollard turned back time with a flurry of sixes to lead the Trinbago Knight Riders to an exciting victory at the Caribbean Premier League 2024. Finishing the match against St. Lucia Kings in Gros Islet, Pollard struck an undefeated half-century to lead TKR to a 4-wicket victory. This was vintage Pollard at his best.
Pollard, a veteran of the Mumbai Indians who is currently their batting coach, declared his retirement from the Indian Premier League prior to the 2023 season. In 2022, he hung up his boots after a 15-year career with the West Indies. In spite of this, Pollard lived up to his reputation as one of the most devastating openers by demonstrating that he still had a lot of fuel in his tank.
Kieron Pollard brings his ace game:
After St Lucia Kings scored a formidable 188 runs, the Knight Riders were unable to muster any momentum in the chase. When Pollard entered the bat, TKR required 65 runs from 40 balls. Despite Pollard's lack of strike, TKR quickly found themselves needing 27 runs from the final 12 deliveries. But Pollard took the final over and went in full force. In that over, he hit four sixes against Matthew Forde. He accomplished the same feat that he had been accomplishing for almost ten years once more. After winning the match, Pollard struck a quiet posture, leaving the St Lucia audience stunned.
"For someone who has led the West Indies, played a lot in St. Lucia, and represented the team, to booâ€aeYoung Shaq (Parris) established the pace, demonstrating his value from the first ball he touched. His day on the field was not very good. Everyone has duties and jobs, thus if finishing games is part of my role, then I must do it. Love watching the young men (contribute). We keep doing that, and I'd like to keep doing that (giving the kids opportunities) until I decide to give it up. Excellent cricket match played by both teams" Pollard remarked during the news conference following the game.

TKR needed only three of the final six balls to win, thanks to the 24 runs from the second-to-last over. A remarkable come-from-behind victory was achieved when Akeal Hossain smashed the opening delivery of the final over for a four.
