ACC Showcases Asia Cup 2025 Trophy During Captains’ Day Event

Mohsin Naqvi, head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), and the captains of the eight participating countries attended the official unveiling of the Asia Cup 2025's magnificent trophy in Dubai on Tuesday. As they posed for pictures with the trophy and expressed their excitement for the competition, captains from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, and Oman attended the occasion. Before the official unveiling, Naqvi greeted each captain and shook hands.

The 2025 Asia Cup is an important training ground for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka because it will be played in the T20I format. The eight teams have been divided into two groups, with the hosts, the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, and Oman making up Group A. Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka are in Group B.

The participants also engaged with the media at the occasion, answering questions and promising to give it their all in the highly anticipated competition. T20I will be used for this year's competition, which is the 15th edition of the men's Asia Cup. The top two teams from each of the two groups formed from the eight teams have advanced to the Super Four stage. September 28 is the date of the final.

Notably, Pakistani icons Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, Indians Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, and Sanjay Manjrekar, as well as Russell Arnold of Sri Lanka and Simon Doull of New Zealand, will share their perspectives with viewers around the world. Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Ajay Jadeja, and Saba Karim will also be part of the Hindi commentary crew. The reigning champions, India, defeated Sri Lanka in 2023 to win their eighth championship.
