On Friday, September 19, India will play Oman in a non-important match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi as part of the Asia Cup 2025. For the last group match before the Super-Four games begin, both teams agreed to make a few adjustments apiece.
In the Asia Cup match against Oman in Abu Dhabi, Jasprit Bumrah will not be participating for India. Given that India has already guaranteed its place in the Super 4, Bumrah's absence may be due to the pacer's need for relaxation. Discover the reason behind Jasprit Bumrah's absence from today's Test match against Oman.
During the toss, Suryakumar Yadav said, “We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition, and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games, and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice, and our openers will assess it further. We have two changes – Harshit comes in, one more guy comes in, I have become like Rohit (laughs)."
Asia Cup 2025 India vs Oman Update:
Although Suryakumar did not provide a precise explanation, India likely rested Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah in preparation for the tournament's Super-Four stage. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana have been granted the chance to participate in the continental competition. Wasim Ali and Hassnain Shah have been replaced by Zikria Islam and Muhammad Nadeem in Oman.
On January 26, 2016, Jasprit Bumrah played his first Twenty20 International match against Australia. He swiftly established himself as a key member of India's T20I attack with his deadly yorkers and death-over accuracy. With 28 wickets in 2016, he set the record for the most T20I wickets taken by an Indian bowler in a single year.
With 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17, Bumrah won Player of the Tournament and played a key role in India's victory in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. He has claimed 92 wickets in 72 Twenty20 International matches as of September 2025, keeping up a strong bowling average of 17.76 and an economy rate of 6.29.
