On Thursday, February 19, at Canberra's Manuka Oval, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur made history by taking the field during the second Twenty20 International between the Indian and Australian women's cricket teams. After winning the series' opening game in Sydney, the Women in Blue are aiming to win a historic series. Harmanpreet won the toss and chose to bowl in celebration of this important turning point in her career.

Harmanpreet broke the script history record set by New Zealand icon Suzie Bates. With 333 caps, Mithali Raj is the Indian player with the second-most appearances. Head coach Amol Muzumdar honoured Harmanpreet's commitment to Indian women's cricket with a touching speech before the eagerly awaited match between two titans of the game.

AUS W vs IND W 2026 Match Update:

She broke the mark that cricket legend Suzie Bates had previously held. Former captain Mithali is the next Indian player on this esteemed list.
