For the forthcoming three-match series against Pakistan, which begins on March 11 in Mirpur, Bangladesh has called up Litton Das, fast bowlers Nahid Rana, and Shoriful Islam to their ODI squad. T20I captain Litton Das is the most noteworthy member of the 15-person team. Notably, after a series of poor performances in the format, the wicketkeeper-batter has been benched from the 50-overs team.
Litton has a blessing in disguise as the BCB selection committee has declared that their goal is to ensure that the players who performed poorly are removed from the ODI team. Afif Hossain has also been brought in by the Bangla Tigers as a crucial piece in their middle order, a position where the team has been having a lot of trouble.

Ashraf said, "We have provided opportunities to several players in the middle order, but unfortunately, some have not done enough to secure their places. With that in mind, Afif Hossain has been recalled. He has never been away from our plans. Afif brings valuable experience and is currently in good touch. Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan has been retained, and this is another opportunity for him to fulfil the potential he has shown."
He further added, "Litton Das may not have produced his best in recent ODIs, but you can't overlook the experience of nearly a hundred international matches in this format. He has been working closely with the coaches on his game. We believe he will soon perform in the manner he is capable of. We are considering him as an option to strengthen the middle order. Soumya Sarkar, meanwhile, has been in excellent form at the international level."
Despite Litton's extended downturn in ODI cricket—he hasn't scored in double figures in his previous eight ODI innings since December 2023—the selectors believe his experience will be beneficial.
