After his former agent filed a petition against him, demanding more than INR 5 crore in outstanding debts, Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is currently facing legal issues. Reddy's connection with his previous agency, Square The One, ended during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024–25), according to people acquainted with the situation. After that, the player signed a contract with the manager of another Indian cricket player who was on the tour.

In accordance with Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, the talent agency has listed the petition. It claims non-payment of dues and violation of the management agreement. According to reports, Reddy ended a three-year relationship with the agency last year. Reddy played a significant role in the agency's social media initiatives for several years. But he hasn't appeared there at all since December.

Nitish Kumar Reddy in trouble?

In order to settle disputes pertaining to the player's claimed illegal breach of contract and unpaid invoices, the petition asks for the appointment of an impartial arbiter. According to people close to the situation, Square The One had been Reddy's agent since 2021, before he became well-known in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Throughout their four-year collaboration, the firm helped the cricket player secure numerous brand endorsements and business deals.

India Today quoted a source saying, “Ninety per cent of such disputes do not reach court and are resolved privately. But in this case, Nitish refused to pay any money and claimed he had secured the deals himself."

Since making an outstanding Test debut in the BGT, Reddy has encountered challenges. During the IPL 2025 season, he had a dismal stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad. He participated in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy and increased his bowling workload before the Test series against England, despite having an injury during the IPL. In two games, he took three wickets and scored 45 runs. However, he sustained a significant knee injury that kept him out of action for the rest of the season after playing in the Lord's and Birmingham Tests.
