Since the conclusion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, Indian cricket has seen significant changes. Following a disappointing series in Australia, Team India was given a 10-point diktat by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which limited some of the team's activities. Players were prohibited from taking their own personal chefs, stylists, and personnel on international tours, among other limitations.
In spite of the stringent prohibitions, Virat Kohli has managed to stick to his rigorous diet, according to a report from The Times of India (TOI). He contacted and worked with a local team manager as soon as he got to Dubai to set up meals from a well-known and respected restaurant. The manager arranged for Kohli to receive a snack packet shortly after the training session.
The report said, "It had had few boxes of Kohli's post-session meal. While the others packed their kit bags, Kohli was refuelling and even saved a box for the road." According to the BCCI 10-point diktat, "Players can no longer bring personal staff like chefs, security guards, or assistants on tours unless explicitly approved by the BCCI."

Everyone on the team, including the players and support personnel, would have to get used to the new procedures established by the BCCI. Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India, has been ordered to stay at a different hotel despite having his personal assistant follow him to the team hotel, team bus, and other locations.
Veteran players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, and others were forced to resume participating in the Ranji Trophy due to a directive from the board. With the new guidelines, the BCCI has made it plain that it intends to encourage domestic cricket, even though Rohit and Virat's outing wasn't the most successful.
On February 16, India began training in Dubai with the primary goal of concentrating on middle and death-over batting techniques. Against Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh, Kohli oversaw tense and furious net sessions. With India playing Bangladesh on February 20 and a much-anticipated encounter versus Pakistan on February 23, 2025, the tournament begins on February 19.
