Chattogram will no longer serve as the tournament's location, according to the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council. This follows the two-day postponement of the BBL due to the passing of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. The Chattogram matches have to be rescheduled for a few reasons, according to BPL member secretary Iftekhar Rahman.

One of these was that the organisers had to find two additional days to move the broadcast equipment to Chattogram because they had missed two days in Sylhet. Another was that they had to maintain the Bangladeshi players' preparation for the T20 World Cup, hence they were unable to postpone the final date.

BPL 2025-2026 Season Venue Change:

BPL games will be held in Sylhet until January 12. The playoffs and the final, which is set for January 23, will come after Dhaka hosts three more match days. The decision to omit Chattogram was made after taking into account two important criteria, according to BPL member secretary Iftekhar Rahman.

First off, the organisers would need more time to move broadcast and technical equipment to Chattogram because of the two-day loss in Sylhet, which was not possible within the amended timeframe. Second, the council gave Bangladeshi players' preparation for the forthcoming T20 World Cup top priority. Since the T20 World Cup starts soon after the BPL ends, efficiency is crucial.

Numerous setbacks have already occurred in the ongoing BPL. Just before the first game, on December 26, the owner of the Chattogram Royals departed from the team, causing concern. After the squad was refused proper practice facilities, Khaled Mahmud, the coach of Noakhali Express, staged a walkout, causing more commotion. Mahbub Ali Zaki, the assistant coach of the Dhaka Capitals, died just minutes before the team's scheduled game against the Rajshahi Warriors, adding another tragic event to the competition.
