There have been some thrillers in the BBL lately, and this one might be another. There is much at stake in this high-profile match between the Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers at the MCG. The Stars have reached a dead end after winning their first four games, all of which were chasing. Despite batting first in each of their previous games, the Marcus Stoinis-led team has lost both. The Stars need to get back on track because the Sixers, Strikers, Renegades, and Heat are only six points behind.
In a low-scoring thriller against the Heat, the Sixers' extraordinarily long batting lineup came to the fore. They dropped to 56/7 when chasing 115, but Joel Davies and Hayden Kerr performed a fantastic partnership under duress to win. Sam Curran has now joined the Sixers team to make them feel even more powerful. The Stars' bowlers must perform well from over one to twenty since they bat all the way down to eleven.
