Sam Curran Back in England T20I Squad After Hundred 2025 Heroics

Rehan Ahmed has also been added to the squads since he performed admirably in the just-finished 100-ball tournament. During 24 games in the T20 Blast and The Hundred, Sam Curran has amassed 603 runs at a strike rate of 154.21 and claimed 33 wickets.

England's T20I teams now include Sam Curran in their lineups for the next series against Ireland and South Africa. Ben Duckett, who has been given a week off before England's winter tours of Australia and New Zealand, is replaced by the fast-bowling all-rounder. Despite being in excellent form in domestic events this season, Curran has not yet made an appearance for England in any format this year or under Brendon McCullum's management.

Regarding his Hundred 2025 efforts, Curran bowled at a thrifty economy rate of 8.55 and claimed 12 wickets in just nine games. He also made a remarkable contribution with the bat, scoring 238 runs in eight innings with a strike-rate of 176.29, which is amazing to say the least. After a 10-month break, Curran has returned to action for England, having last played during the 2024 West Indies trip.

Sam Curran in England's Squad:

Before beginning the T20I series on September 10, England has one more game remaining in their ODI series against the Proteas, which they have already lost. In the meantime, Matthew Potts has been cut from the Ireland T20I team so that he can play for his county in the County Championship finals.

Jacob Bethell will captain the English team for the first time during the Irish trip, while Harry Brook will lead the team against the Proteas. Rehan Ahmed has also been added to the squads since he performed admirably in the just-finished 100-ball tournament.
