An amusing exchange between Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone occurred during India's innings in the third and final One-Day International between India and England at the massive Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Livingstone didn't waste any time in jokingly reminding Kohli of his good fortune after he survived a near-miss DRS.
After failing in the second ODI between England and Cuttack, Virat Kohli was back to his imperial best, looking menacing and hitting some stunning smashes to put the England team on the defensive. As Kohli and Shubman Gill developed a relationship, India had to salvage the innings after Rohit Sharma left cheaply.
Jos Buttler, the captain of England, attempted to bring in Joe Root for Kohli, but the Indian batsman easily dismissed him. Then, when Adil Rashid entered the attack, Buttler used his greatest bowler to take on the legendary Indian player. Adil Rashid trapped him on the front leg, nearly making the move pay off, but the umpire ruled it out. Since the ball had just pitched outside the leg, England won the review, and Kohli just survived.

When an LBW appeal against Kohli caused some commotion, he was looking good at the crease. Following some deliberation among Buttler, Adil Rashid, and Phil Salt, England chose to proceed with a review. As Kohli tried to flick, the Rashid delivery struck his pad after pitching around the leg stump and spinning in quickly.
The third umpire, however, upheld the on-field umpire's verdict and declared in favour of Kohli, confirming that the ball had pitched outside leg. The umpire's decision left Kohli's RCB teammate, Phil Salt, stunned, and England couldn't believe his luck. However, another RCB signing, Liam Livingstone, was amused and shared a humorous moment with Kohli, laughing together.

The 36-year-old scored his 73rd ODI half-century in spite of the fortunate escape. Rashid had the final laugh, though, when he took the outside edge of Kohli's bat and dismissed him for 52 off 55 balls with a flighted delivery that drifted in before turning slightly away. Before the umpire could raise his finger, Delhi-born wicketkeeper Salt finished the catch and left. Rashid had now dismissed Kohli five times in ODIs. In the meantime, Gill remains on the crease and will try to maximize his start and work with other hitters to score a significant amount.
