England is playing its final match of its Indian tour in Ahmedabad. On February 12, the third and final ODI between the two teams took place at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. Prior to the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the "Donate Organs, Save Lives" campaign to promote organ donation.
Cricket players frequently wear black armbands as a symbol of respect after the death of a person who contributed to the sport. Prior to the Ahmedabad match, the BCCI launched an organ donation campaign, and the green armbands symbolize this larger cause.
In conjunction with the third ODI, the Indian cricket team is holding an organ donation drive in the city. If a single person decides to donate their organs, they might potentially save up to eight lives. In a video released by the BCCI, players including Mohammed Shami, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli supported the 'Get a Life' campaign, and India head coach Gautam Gambhir even committed his organs at its debut.
