The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was said to be having problems with stadium renovations, with reports suggesting that the entire Champions Trophy will be moved to Dubai because the stadiums in Pakistan may not be ready before the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 tournament, which begins on February 19th. Amid concerns that the Champions Trophy may be moved out of Pakistan owing to a delay in stadium rehabilitation work, a PCB official stated that preparations are underway and that all stadium work will be completed by the first week of February.
The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19. The eight-team tournament, which includes 15 games, will end on March 9. The Champions Trophy matches will be held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
Champions Trophy rumours squashed:
Gulf News quotes a PCB official saying, "All the work [related to stadiums] will be done by the first week of February. Pakistan will successfully host the Champions Trophy. No need to go by any rumours. We are committed to giving our best. There are people who are trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. We know who they are and why they are doing this."
Speaking about Pakistan's impending Test series against the West Indies, which begins tomorrow, the first Test, which was planned to be played in Multan, will now be held in Islamabad. For the first time in 18 years, the West Indies will play a Test match in Pakistan. The next series that they will prepare for is the trie series, which will involve New Zealand and South Africa and will begin on February 8th and end on February 14th. This could be an excellent approach to prepare for the upcoming ICC event.
