In their season opener on June 7, Kolhapur Tuskers defeated Ratnagiri Jets by seven wickets, capping off their Maharashtra Premier League (MPL 2025) campaign. The competition saw the Ratnagiri Jets lose for the third time in a row. After winning the toss and choosing to field first, Kolhapur Tuskers got off to a fantastic start thanks to a scorching first spell from left-arm pacer Atman Pore. Pore reduced the Ratnagiri Jets to 4 for 3 after taking two wickets in his opening two overs.

Ratnagiri Jets, who batted first, managed a valiant 173/7 in 20 overs. With a blistering 58 off 26 balls, Divyang Hinganekar took the lead, while skipper Azim Kazi provided steadiness with 47 off 38 balls. With a valuable 40 off 28 balls, Nikhil Naik contributed and gave the innings a boost. With 3/29 off 4 overs, Kolhapur's preferred bowler was Atman Pore, who was successfully supported by Rajneesh Gurbani (1/19) and Shreyas Chavan (2/30) to prevent the Jets from winning by a landslide.

With eight balls remaining, his scorching 35* off just 14 deliveries gave the Kolhapur Tuskers the victory.
