Bumrah produced a deft slower delivery on the first ball of the over, rolling his fingertips across the seam to totally fool Brook. After retreating, the England captain tried an early pull, but he was through the shot too fast. The ball flew high above the cover area as a result of the bottom hand coming off the bat due to a lack of timing.
Axar Patel kept his eyes riveted on the twirling ball as he ran back, tracking it. He made quick adjustments and dove forward at the last second as it started to dip awkwardly. Axar managed to make a spectacular catch even though it appeared to elude him. After landing, he stayed on the ground for a short while to make sure he had complete possession of the ball.
Earlier, Sanju Samson led India's innings with an incredible 89 off 42 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes. Shivam Dube (43), Ishan Kishan (39), Hardik Pandya (27), and Tilak Varma (21) all provided significant assistance and made crucial cameos to help India surpass 250. With two wickets apiece, Will Jacks (2/40) and Adil Rashid (2/41) were England's best bowlers.
