Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India in the Twenty20 International format, emphasized the importance of selflessness for his team's players. This came after India defeated Bangladesh 3-0 and won the third and final Twenty20 International match on Saturday, October 12 in Hyderabad.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, India produced the highest total by a Test-playing nation in T20Is (297/6), led by a defiant century from Sanju Samson. SKY admitted that Samson demonstrated an altruistic attitude as he improved from 62 off 30 balls to 92 off 35 balls and blasted five straight sixes off Rishad Hossain in the tenth over. The Kerala batsman also reached his first T20I century, striking a boundary off the 40th delivery he faced off Mahedi Hasan.

During the post-series presentation, Suryakumar spoke to the host broadcaster, "As a team, I believe we have accomplished a lot. Above all, as I stated at the beginning of the series, I want my team to be made up of unselfish cricket players. We want to be a selfless team and, as Hardik [Pandya] said, we want to just enjoy each other's performance on the field and off the field and spend as much time as possible. That camaraderie is carrying on the field and we're having some fun."

Suryakumar Yadav gets candid:

Before the T20I series against Sri Lanka in July, head coach Gautam Gambhir advised the players—according to Suryakumar—that the team is more important than any individual. According to the Mumbai batter, this team isn't too concerned about individual accomplishments because they aren't scared to take risks in order to score quickly.

That has been the general conversation within the squad. He goes on to say, "No one is bigger than the team. Gauti bhai emphasized both at the beginning of the series and when we travelled to Sri Lanka. Sanju did the same thing. If you feel like you have to hit the ball out of the park for the team, whether you're at 49, 99, or anything else, you have to hit it. Truly delighted for him."

In addition to Samson's century, Suryakumar struck 75 off just 35 balls, playing a brilliant innings. Bangladesh was completely bewildered by his 172-run partnership off of just 70 balls with Samson. Afterwards, big-hitting talents were also displayed by Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls) and Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls).

In response, Towhid Hridoy stayed unbeaten at 63 off 42 balls as Bangladesh puffed and puffed their way to 164/7. With the ball, Ravi Bishnoi shone, finishing with figures of 3/30 in four overs. For the first time in the series, Mayank Yadav took the new ball and claimed two wickets. India won by 133 runs, and Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy both contributed with a wicket apiece.
