Pakistan defended a modest target of 142 runs on a challenging pitch, bowling Afghanistan out for 66 in 15.5 overs. With Fakhar Zaman leading the way with 27, Afghan captain Rashid Khan got three wickets to help limit Pakistan to 141-8. After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first, but their start was rocky as Sahibzada Farhan was out for a duck on the third ball of the innings.
Saim Ayub and the seasoned Fakhar Zaman, however, steadied the ship and contributed crucial runs to bring the score near 50 before Ayub left with 49 on the scoreboard. Pakistan's hitters were unable to generate any significant momentum as Afghanistan's bowlers struck at regular intervals.
To clinch a hat-trick, Nawaz removed Ibrahim Zadran for nine off the first ball of his subsequent over after dismissing Darwish Rasooli and Azmatullah Omarzai for ducks off consecutive deliveries. After Faheem Ashraf and Muhammad Hasnain, Nawaz became the third bowler from Pakistan to accomplish the feat in Twenty20 Internationals.

Afghanistan collapsed under constant assault from Pakistan's bowlers while chasing a small mark. At regular intervals, wickets dropped, and none of their batters were able to relax at the crease. Mohammad Nawaz, a left-arm spinner, gave Pakistan a decisive victory with a spectacular performance of 5 for 19, which featured a maiden over and an incredible hat-trick. Rashid's 17 was the biggest individual contribution as his genius destroyed Afghanistan's batting lineup. In 15.5 overs, Afghanistan was knocked out for just 66.
Pakistan won the tri-series title with a 75-run victory in the final. Nawaz won Player of the Series and Player of the Match after taking 10 wickets at an average of 11.70 in five games. Now that the tri-series is over, focus is shifting to the 2025 Asia Cup. On September 9, Afghanistan will play their first match against Hong Kong; on September 10, the UAE, the hosts, will play India; and on September 12, Pakistan will play Oman.
