The Australian women won the match by nine runs after coming out to defend the target and restricting the Indian women to a total of 142 runs. With the victory, the team concluded their group-stage campaign firmly atop the standings. Tahlia McGrath, the stand-in captain, grabbed centre stage and brought attention to the mindset that Australian women have been adhering to for a long time. According to her opinion, the team's goal is to win each and every match they play in the competition.

McGrath remarked during the presentation ceremony following the game, "Yes, without a doubt. Every game we play is one we aim to win. We were aware that today would present us with a significant challenge. They attacked us with great force. Simply put, I am rather pleased with the bunch. Right at the end, we have our nerve. Needless to say, nobody likes getting hurt, especially if they are major players. A captain's injury is never easy to deal with. I stumbled a little bit when I was captaining today. No, everyone has been excellent."
Tahlia McGrath also discussed the characteristics of the pitch during the match between Australia and India. She said that the surface was difficult and disclosed that she had several conversations with her teammates in order to prepare more effectively.
She further said, "It was a little challenging to evaluate. The ball continued to skid with some speed. When you increased the speed, it was merely holding and gripping slightly. We believe that in the second inning, it altered somewhat. Numerous conversations were in place. [With a par score] We were discussing what we wanted to achieve and what was the best course of action all the time. We were chatting away quite a bit. Whoever is out there understands that it has a great deal of depth."
