The third season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is fast approaching, and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is busy settling on the dates and locations for the marquee tournament. Though it has yet to deliver formal notices to the five franchises, reports indicate that the 2025 edition will begin on either February 6th or 7th.

Furthermore, like last year, the WPL will be held in a caravan format. The first leg will be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, followed by the final in Vadodara, which is scheduled to take place on March 9. The newly inaugurated Kotambi Stadium, several kilometres away from Vadodara, hosted its inaugural international series, with the India Women's team playing three one-day internationals against the West Indies.

A source revealed, “There will be 23 games across two venues. The goal is to spread the game across the country." With the new season of the WPL approaching, many eyes will be focused on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru ladies. With Smriti Mandhana as captain, RCB Women made history by winning the championship, something the men's team has yet to achieve.

Furthermore, with the new season of the WPL approaching, RCB Women will be hoping for similar performances and the opportunity to defend their title. The season will be exciting for RCB and the league as a whole, with Mumbai Indians Women as the inaugural champions and Delhi Capitals Women as serious challengers.

Fans are eagerly anticipating a thrilling WPL 2025 season. Last season was one of the most loved and hyped in a long time. The franchises hope the turnout to be more than before.
