Known as the modern-day chase master, Virat Kohli was once again at the top of his game when India defeated Australia in the opening semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 on Tuesday, March 4. As India secured their spot in the eight-team tournament's finals, which will take place in Dubai, Kohli, who scored 84 off 98 balls, was also named Player of the Match.
Kohli hit five boundaries in his 84. India finished the match with 11 deliveries and four wickets remaining thanks to Kohli's 84 at a strike rate of 85.71, which was well-supported by Shreyas Iyer's 45 and KL Rahul's 42 not out. Virat addressed his propensity to win games for the team with the bat, claiming that his love of cricket and his even greater love for batting are the sole reasons he has been able to continue scoring and leading the Men in Blue to victory.
Virat Kohli drops truth bombs:

For me, now at this stage of my career, it's all about, you know, just getting up for these games, getting excited, coming out here, hopefully doing the job for the team and working as hard as I can, run hard between the wickets and play according to the demands of the situation. So, when all those things come together and come off, you obviously feel really good. And to get the team across the line, it's a great feeling."
In a pivotal match like this one, the right-hander, who is renowned for remaining composed at the crease, provided insight into how they navigated the chase. Additionally, he emphasized the need for them to adapt to the circumstances. In addition, he said that he enjoys working hard for his team to win games and commended his teammates for their important efforts. He went on to say:
